Shipley: Woman driver threatened in car-jacking

A woman was threatened and ordered to leave her vehicle in a car-jacking in Shipley.

The 26-year-old victim had just finished work and was sat behind the wheel of her black VW Golf R32 in a small car park near Northcliffe Fisheries, on Bradford Road, when she was approached by two Asian men at 6.40pm yesterday (August 29).

The men threatened her with a weapon and told her to get out of the car, which contained her valuables, before driving it away.

West Yorkshire Police’s helicopter was scrambled to comb the area and the car, with the registration HO08LLY, was found at around 9.30pm in a compound off Beckside Road.

One of the men wore a hooded top and the other is described as tall and skinny.

Detectives are keen to trace the vehicle’s movements between 6.40pm and 9.30pm. Anyone with information is asked to call Airedale and North Bradford CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
