Shopkeeper attacked by three masked raiders

A SHOPKEEPER was taken to hospital with facial injuries after he was kicked and punched by three robbers.

The 34-year-old was beaten when he tried to stop the men as they stole cigarettes and mobile phones from his food store in Fagley Place, Bradford, on Wednesday morning. The masked men were armed with a hammer and a crow bar.

Detective Inspector Nicola Bryar of West Yorkshire Police said: “This was clearly a terrifying experience for the shopkeeper who was just opening up his store when these men burst in.

“Despite wearing facial coverings and gloves, it is believed all were in their late teens.

“Each had local accents and of slim build.”

The victim was treated in hospital and allowed home.
