No one was injured in the incident, which is thought to have been targeted.

Today’s attack follows a separate firearms incident in the Richmond Road area of Sheffield last Monday, June 27.

Shots were fired towards a pub at about 10.40pm, causing damage to a window.

South Yorkshire Police’s Temporary Det Insp John Wheaton said: “Nobody was injured in either shooting but I fully appreciate how concerning these events will be for local residents and the wider community.

“We are working incredibly hard to identify those involved and we strongly believe that both incidents are targeted towards particular individuals or groups.

“While we are in the early stages of our investigation, there is no suggestion at this time that the shooting this morning is linked to the incident in Richmond Road last week.

“However, we are keeping an open mind and exploring all lines of enquiry available to us.

“If you hold any information about either incident, or think you can help us locate the individuals involved, please give us a ring or speak to officers within the community.

“I understand that some of you may be reluctant to speak to officers directly, so remember you can call Crimestoppers anonymously and in confidence on 0800 555111.”
