Singer joins line-up for woodland gig

SINGER Sophie Ellis-Bextor was announced yesterday as the latest act who will play an open-air gig at one of the country’s largest forests this summer.

She will perform in Dalby Forest in North Yorkshire on Saturday, June 25, as the special guest on Erasure’s Total Pop! tour.

Ellis-Bextor, who is the daughter of former Blue Peter presenter Janet Ellis, is a multi-platinum selling artist whose hits include Murder on the Dancefloor and Take Me Home (A Girl Like Me).

The gig is part of the Forestry Commission’s annual live music events, which turn woodland across the country into concert venues with ticket sales helping pay to preserve the environment.
