Singers aim to hit the right note

A CHARITY group is trying to raise another £1,000 before it celebrates its fifth birthday next month.

The Bridlington Classic Pop Singers, a 40-strong ensemble of amateur vocalists whose number includes a window cleaner, an accountant, a lorry driver, a nurse and a retired publican, have carved out a fund-raising niche in the world of entertainment since 2007, charging no fee to perform for a range of charities and good causes.

Their latest concert to raise funds for the Bridlington branch of the RSPCA, last Thursday, at Emmanuel Church in Bridlington, raised £359.

The group is aiming to top the £40,000 mark by mid-May.
