Sir Cliff bows out of pin-up parade

Have your say

Pop veteran Sir Cliff Richard has quit the pin-up parade and announced he is not going to release another of his best-selling calendars because it is too much “pressure”.

Fans of the wholesome heart-throb regularly rush to the shops to buy his calendars full of pictures of the Young Ones singer.

The 2014 calendar has an American theme with pictures of Sir Cliff wearing cowboy boots perched on the bonnet of a car and another of him walking down railway tracks with a guitar on his back, while this year’s showed the 73-year-old flaunting his six-pack on a jet ski.

But he told chatshow host Graham Norton that the 35th calendar would be his last.

He said: “I am not going to do any more. How many shapes can I pull with this body? It’s a pressure.”
