Sir Paul's support for 'amazing' Stella

Models wear creations designed by British fashion designer Stella McCartney, seen inset with her father Sir Paul McCartney, for her spring-summer 2011 ready to wear collection, presented in Paris, yesterday.

The former Beatle was full of praise for his daughter, who is eight months pregnant with her fourth child. “She was amazing; she always is,” he said.

Sir Paul was joined by his girlfriend, Nancy Shevell, on a glamorous front row for the show at the Opera Garnier, which included actresses Salma Hayek and Liv Tyler. As Blur’s Girls and Boys played out, there were skirts split up to the thigh, peppermint-coloured blazers and off-white button-down polo shirts.

“We wanted skirts to go longer for next spring/summer, but we didn’t want it to look – dare I say it – mumsy,” the fashion designer said. “I wanted long, but I also wanted legs.”

Trousers were slim-fitting with front pleats and turn-ups at the ankle, while shirts and polo shirts were buttoned right to the top.
