Sizing up today's children

ACADEMICS from a Yorkshire university are helping to produce 3D images of children to give clothes retailers up-to-date information about their sizes.

A survey of 6,000 children's body shapes will be carried out by scanning technology specialists Select Research and experts from Hull University which is providing equipment for the study.

It is aimed at helping businesses which use British Standard measurements taken from the last size survey of children carried out in 1990.
