Sleeping man rescued from Sheffield fire

A MAN was rescued from a fire in a flat after he fell asleep.

Firefighters found the man, aged in his 20s, asleep when they attended the first floor property in Club Garden Road, Sheffield last night.

Crews were called when smoke alarm activated at around 11.15pm.

The fire was found to have been started accidentally, having been caused by smoking materials.

The man was taken to hospital suffering from the affects of smoke inhalation.
