Slimmed-down DJ Moyles may have to wear fat suit for new stage role

Slimmed-down star Chris Moyles has lost so much weight he may have to wear a fat suit for his new role in a stage musical, according to reports.

The Radio 1 DJ, from Leeds, is set to play King Herod in Jesus Christ Superstar with the title role being given to the winner of the new ITV reality show Superstar.

Show supremo Lord Lloyd Webber said: “The thing is we signed Chris and now he’s gone and lost all that weight. I think we are going to have to get him a fat suit.

“Herod was a big man. So it looks like it will be a fat suit.”

Moyles will star alongside former Spice Girl Mel C as Mary Magdalene and Tim Minchin as Judas.

Dawn French and Jason Donovan have been signed up as judges to help in the search for a new star and Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden will host the live heats.

Guest performers on each show will also join the judges to give their opinions about the wannabes.

The winner will take the lead role in a national tour, opening at London’s O2 arena on September 21.
