Small wonder as exhibition of mini-prints proves major draw

AN exhibition of mini-prints is making a big impression on visitors.

Artlink – on Princes Avenue in Hull – is hosting the exhibition of 102 prints.

None of them is larger than 50cm square.

This year's annual exhibition features the work of 34 artists, both amateur and professional from around the country – with some striking images – including traditional etchings, photos and collagraphs. Most of the works are extremely affordable – with prices starting at just 10.

While some of the artists are established in their fields, others including 16-year-old Tom Fitzpatrick, a student at St Mary's College in the city, are just starting out.

The show's curator, Cara Sutherland, said: "Once the prints on the wall have been sold, they will be replaced with ones from a portfolio.

"It means that it becomes an ever-evolving show."

She added: "The idea behind using the prints is that whoever buys it will feel a real ownership.

"They might have bought a print which was one of only five produced by the artist."

The exhibition continues until January 14 and is open from Mondays to Saturdays between 10am and 4pm.

The gallery is open until December 22, when it closes for Christmas.
