SME activity proof of economic recovery taking hold

Increased activity across many business sectors is offering real proof of a recovering economy, according to the new director for RBS Corporate Banking for Leeds and West Yorkshire.

Mark Heyes is now in charge of a team of 11 relationship managers who look after 1,000 customers, predominantly SMEs in the Yorkshire area. He said the improving economy is offering great opportunities.

“Our main focus is to support Yorkshire businesses to achieve their goals, increase employment and enhance the economic prosperity of the region. My team has relationship managers in all the communities which we serve across Yorkshire.

“There are many encouraging signs, and we are seeing a lot of activity in the housing, leisure and manufacturing sectors, providing real evidence of a return to growth in the economy, and for our customers as they look to expand.”

He added: “It might seem like a daunting task but coming to my team to talk through your options couldn’t be simpler. We will work together to understand your business strategy.”

With RBS branches becoming part of the Williams & Glyn bank, he pointed out: “Part of Williams & Glyn is about having our people based in the local communities and to make it easy for businesses of all sizes to talk to us.”
