So how many choristers can you fit into a car?

A DOZEN Wakefield Cathedral choristers donned their robes before squeezing in to a tiny Toyota Aygo at the launch of a new raffle to raise £30,000 towards Wakefield Cathedral’s £3.5m renovation.

The youngsters, aged eight to 17, were happy to sing from same hymn sheet yesterday at the historic cathedral.

The car was donated by Benfield Toyota (Wakefield) as first prize in the raffle to be drawn on Christmas Eve. Queen Elizabeth Garmmar School juniors Joel Crabtree, eight, and ten-year-old Adam Marwood drew the short straws and climbed in to the car boot.

Adam said: “I didn’t think so many of us would get in the car.” Raffle tickets – priced at £1 – are available from Wakefield Cathedral, or by e mailing [email protected]
