From soap to Pan for Emmerdale star

Dancing on Ice winner Hayley Tamaddon is one of the big names who will be treading the boards in this year's Lyceum Theatre pantomime, it was revealed yesterday.

The Emmerdale actress, who will star as Peter Pan, is shown with Nigel Planer, who plays Captain Hook. Planer, best known for playing Nigel in The Young Ones, has appeared in numerous theatre productions, including Wicked and Evita in the West End.

Also confirmed to be taking part in the show is Damien Williams, who appeared in two previous pantomimes - Aladdin and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs – at the Lyceum.

The cast members were at Sheffield's Weston Park yesterday in full costume to launch the show, which will be staged this Christmas.

A spokesman for Sheffield Theatres said: "Featuring Tinkerbell, the Lost Boys, and of course, the evil Captain Hook, Peter Pan will boast dazzling sets and costumes, fabulous musical numbers, family comedy and plenty of audience participation."
