Social care workers win praise

ADULT social care services in Doncaster are "performing well", according to a report published by the Care Quality Commission yesterday.

Doncaster Council was graded as performing well overall and both managers and councillors were said to have a "clear vision for social care." The report said that senior managers "lead people in transforming services to achieve better outcomes" and "develop the capabilities of people in the workforce."

Commenting on the report, Doncaster's director of adult services Joan Beck said: "The findings of the report make really good news for Doncaster.

"It is testament to such hard work displayed by so many people and reflects the continuous positive journey we have been so strongly committed to since the service was identified as a priority for improvement in 2007.

"We are committed to ensuring the views of Doncaster's service users and carers are continuously taken into account, along with a constant commitment to improving our working arrangements with multi-agency partners, in order to develop and deliver a wide range of services catered for individual needs."
