Polina Ovsyannikova, 25, was at Trinity Leeds with a friend when she was told to wait in the main atrium.

Suddenly, a flash mob of dancers started performing in front of her to her favourite song – ‘Ain’t Nobody’ by Chaka Khan – and a crowd of thousands watched on in awe.

After a 10-minute performance of break dancing and bhangra, the red carpet was rolled out and a gob-smacked Polina turned around to find her boyfriend Rajat Sharma, 35, on bended knee.

“I still can’t believe it,” she said.

“I couldn’t talk for about an hour afterwards. I couldn’t have dreamed of anything like that.

“I am marrying the man of my dreams and I couldn’t be happier.”

Graphic design student Polina met her solicitor fiancé Rajat at a bar on Call Lane two years ago.

He said: “She is the most beautiful person inside and out, and she’s also a bit of a romantic like me. They say if you love someone you want to shout it from the rooftops, so that’s what I did.”

After saying ‘yes’, a brass band made its way through the crowd and kept the party going.

The couple have already starting planning their wedding, which will be held in Goa, India on November 3.

The flashmob on May 17 was organised by Morley-based company The Dance Mob.

The company is run by former Apprentice star Francesca MacDuff-Varley.
