Son follows father to be city mayor
The lieutenant governor of the US state of Louisiana Mitch Landrieu has been elected the first white mayor of New Orleans since 1979 – the last one was his father, Noon.
The 49-year-old Democrat replaces term-limited Ray Nagin in the majority-black city from a field of 10 in a landslide.
