South Yorkshire: Passenger cut free from Sheffield car crash

AN UNCONSCIOUS car passenger had to be cut from the back of a vehicle in the early hours of today (August 29) after the Audi A3 crashed into a row of parked cars in Sheffield.

Fire crews were called to Ashgate Close in Broomhill at 4.50am and had to cut away the hatch at the rear of the car to remove the passenger, who was unconscious and breathing.

The driver had already left the vehicle through the driver’s door.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: “Both men received treatment at the scene from ambulance crews, before being taken to hospital.”
