Speed surprise for primary pupils
FOOTBALL-crazy youngsters across Yorkshire got a big surprise when the manager of the Welsh national team, Gary Speed, dropped in.
The lads from Willow Tree Primary School, in Harrogate, got the benefit of his coaching skills. Willow Tree have won through qualifying stages and will be representing their local Football League club, Leeds United FC, in the Championship Final at Wembley on May 30 when they take on a team representing Swansea City. Speed said: “The opportunity to play in front of a huge crowd at Wembley is an absolute dream for any young footballer.” He also visited Meltham CE Primary School in Holmfirth earlier in the day.
