Stab boy's funeral go-ahead

A funeral can be held for a nine-year old boy who was stabbed to death after his body was released by a coroner.

Jack James Taylor, of Richardson Avenue, Bradford, died on February 18. His 20-year-old brother, Daniel Taylor, of Richardson Avenue, Bradford, has been charged with murdering Jack and wounding his 18-year-old sister Rachel and remanded in custody.

An inquest into Jack’s death, which opened yesterday at Bradford Coroner’s Court, heard the boy died from multiple stab wounds and a wound to his neck.

Coroner’s officer Anthony Thornton said that at about 7.42pm on February 18, paramedics found Jack with stab wounds “mainly to the neck and abdomen” at a house in Rookes Avenue, Bradford. He was dead on arrival at hospital.

Coroner Roger Whittaker adjourned the inquest pending the outcome of criminal proceedings.
