Stamp of history

Images of some of the region's most famous landmarks and scenery are being featured on a new set of stamps to promote Yorkshire's multi-billion pound tourism trade.

Pictures of York Minster, the Humber Bridge, the Yorkshire Dales, Sheffield’s Winter Gardens and Cayton Bay are shown on the stamps in the latest marketing initiative by Welcome to Yorkshire and Visit York. The worldwide postcard stamps are being sold as a set in a souvenir strip costing 3.10, and were launched at York’s Visitor Information Centre. Tourism is now worth more than 6.3bn each year to Yorkshire’s economy.
