Stamps steel show

Sparks flew at a top Yorkshire tourist attraction as Royal Mail launched its latest set of special stamps, celebrating the work of some of the world's most famous scientists.

Staff at Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham showcased 10 first class stamps produced to mark the 350th anniversary of the Royal Society – the world's oldest scientific academy.

Our picture shows Magna's Anna Holdsworth holding a blow-up of the Benjamin Franklin 'Electricity' stamp in front of Big Melt, a recreation of steel-making in one of the building's original electric arc furnaces.
