Stones’ guitarist in row with ex-wife over memorabilia

Rocker Ronnie Wood is in dispute with his ex-wife over her decision to sell the contents of their former family home.

Jo Wood, 57, whose divorce from the guitarist was finalised last year, is holding an auction next month in Beverly Hills.

But a representative for the guitarist said that he was “staggered” that his ex was selling his Rolling Stones’ tour outfits, saying that they did not belong to the former model.

Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills announced that Jo was putting band memorabilia, which she collected over the years, under the hammer.

It said that highlights of the sale were Wood’s “stage-worn leather jackets and clothing”.

But a spokesman for the guitarist said that some items in the sale had not been passed to his ex in the divorce proceedings.

The couple split-up very publicly in 2008 after rocker Wood, 65, left his wife of more than 20 years for 21-year-old former cocktail waitress Ekaterina Ivanova.

Wood is “staggered that some of the items being offered at the auction are clearly his personal belongings, which did not pass to Jo as part of the divorce proceedings,” the spokesman said. “The tour clothes being offered belong to the Rolling Stones and are not hers to sell. Ronnie feels saddened that Jo has taken this course of action and wants the public to know he has not teamed up with Jo on this outrageous sale.”

He also denied reports that the auction was a joint sale.

“Ronnie was asked by Jo some time ago if he wished to add some items to an auction and he said he did not want to participate. #

“He is therefore shocked and disappointed that this auction is being misrepresented as a joint sale. This is not the case,” the spokesman said. .
