Street stabbing shuts road for rush hour

One of Sheffield's busiest routes remained closed off during the morning rush hour yesterday after a man was stabbed on Bramall Lane on Tuesday night.

He is said to have staggered into the Earl of Arundel and Surrey pub, on the corner of Bramall Lane and Queens Road, to raise the alarm after being assaulted. The victim's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Bramall Lane was reopened to traffic at about 10.45am yesterday.
