Strictly dancers step forward for fresh challenge at arena

THE winner of Strictly Come Dancing Kara Tointon and fellow contestant Matt Baker were at Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield yesterday in preparation for the Strictly live tour, which comes to the Attercliffe venue next week.

Dancers including Miss Tointon, Mr Baker, Colin Jackson, Patsy Kensit, Pamela Stephenson and Tina O'Brien will perform on Monday, January 17 and Tuesday, January 18.

MP Ann Widdecombe, who will dance with tour director and judge Craig Revel Horwood, said: "I am very much looking forward to dancing with Craig, after all the rude remarks he has made."

Mr Revel Horwood added: "Ann is a good sport, I can't wait to get my hands on her, and create a fabulous routine which people will talk about for many years to come."

Presenter and radio DJ Zoe Ball, who came third in the television dance contest in 2005, will present the live show, which will also feature judges Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli.

The celebrities and professional dancers will compete live for the votes of the judges and, as with previous years, the audience will have the chance to have their say on who wins the glitter ball trophy as their votes are added to the judges' scores to select the winner.
