Strike called off byborder agency staff

A strike by the border agency's union, which would have sparked travel disruption for passengers arriving in the UK, was called off yesterday.

ISU, formerly the Immigration Service Union, had been set to hold its first strike in almost 30 years, from midnight next Thursday. But the union said it received an offer from management and had agreed not to contest an injunction preventing the industrial action.
