Strike shuts down Greek state sector
Greece's state sector shut down yesterday as civil servants walked off the job in a 24-hour strike, demanding the government take back austerity measures to tackle a debt crisis.
Tax offices, schools and universities closed, while state-run hospitals functioned on emergency staff as doctors walked out. Flights to and from Greece were grounded for four hours as air traffic controllers joined the protests.
