Striking lights

Tens of thousands of people have visited a light sculpture display.

Bradford Council estimates that around 30,000 people visited the Garden of Light during its first three nights to marvel at
the gigantic light installations in City
Park.

The event features 24 light sculptures, some of which are over 11 metres tall.

The installations are the brainchild of French master light artists TILT, who have staged similar events in Singapore, Geneva, Qatar and Bilbao.

Coun Susan Hinchcliffe of Bradford Council said: “We are delighted that Garden of Light is proving so popular. The installations clearly have a very broad appeal and it’s encouraging to see such a wide range of people enjoying them.”
