Students’ chance to bloom
A FLOWER festival at the country’s finest Georgian townhouse will showcase floral arrangements created by students from a Yorkshire college.
The Flower Power event at Fairfax House in York features avant-garde creations by the floristry students from Askham Bryan College and is the second such festival to be staged there, after the first attracted thousands of visitors in 2008.
Kate Pepper, pictured, a senior lecturer for floristry at the College was involved, helping put the finishing touches to a hanging design by Kirsty Berridge. The exhibition opened yesterday and will run until Sunday, June 26.
