Students set style for hospice fundraiser

Trend-setting students at Sheffield Hallam University have been donating their unwanted clothes and accessories for a fashion show in aid of St Luke's Hospice.

The show, which will be held at Sheffield United’s football ground on March 11, is being organised by students involved with Venture Matrix, a university-wide scheme which supports student entrepreneurs. It will feature outfits made from the donated clothes and modelled by 30 volunteers of all shapes, sizes and ages.

Charmaine Myers, left, project manager of Venture Matrix, said: “Design students will use the donations to style outfits for the show, while the leftover clothing will be donated to St Luke's Hospice shops to be sold." Abigail Batchelor, right, community fundraising manager at St Luke’s, said: "We were delighted when the Venture Matrix students approached us with the idea of a ‘green’ fashion show to help raise funds for our work.”
