Style proves Ladies Day winner

EVEN though the Queen’s well-backed Estimate could only finish third at Doncaster yesterday, this trio of stylish racegoers certainly dressed to impress on Ladies Day – still one of the most popular fixtures in the South Yorkshire sporting calendar.

Looking radiant, they caught the eye as they headed to the paddock on day two of the Ladbrokes St Leger festival, a prestigious four-day meeting which will come to a dramatic climax tomorrow when the unbeaten Camelot attempts to become the first horse, since a Lester Piggott-inspired Nijinsky in 1970, to land horse racing’s iconic Triple Crown. Limited tickets are still available for tomorrow’s historic race after nine runners were declared for the one-and-three-quarter mile stamina test across Town Moor.
