Summer street surgeries are back

PEOPLE in Bridlington will get a chance to have their say on the town's development in a street surgery next month.

East Riding Council's Advance Bridlington team will visit the town on August 12 as part of this year's street surgeries programme.

Representatives from a range of council services, as well as councillors and members of police and fire and rescue teams, will visit Lansdowne Crescent, Lansdowne Road, Blackburn Avenue, The Crescent and Clarence Avenue, between 4pm and 6pm.

The surgeries provide an opportunity for people to air their views on issues affecting their community, and put forward ideas and suggestions for improvements

Coun Ros Jump, portfolio holder for community engagement, said: "The street surgeries are back by popular demand after they proved to be a huge hit with residents last year. We find that residents much prefer talking to us informally in this way.

"Last year's surgeries provided the council and its partner organisations with a wealth of useful information about issues that were affecting residents

"By acting on this feedback, we're able to work together to make real and lasting improvements to the quality of life of Bridlington residents."
