This Sunday, how about a curried Yorkshire pudding?

YORKSHIRE puddings have been a Sunday staple for more than 250 years - but now Indian chefs have given it a multi-racial makeover.

It's one of several traditional English dishes to have been "currified" for a restaurant event known as National Curry Week.

The new version, with chilli pepper instead of gravy, will be served at participating Asian restaurants this week.

Other British classics dishes to have been given the "Br-Indian" treatment are Devonshire cream chai (a spice-infused scone served with chilli jam), Ha-ghee-s (haggis with curry sauce) and the Bombay Bakewell Tart.
