Superheroes take it in their stride

Youngsters put their best foot forward yesterday for charity.

They were taking part in the Barnardo’s Big Toddle, at Temple Newsam, Leeds, the UK’s biggest charity event for under-fives.

Children were encouraged to dress up as their favourite superhero for the event. Funds raised by the charitable youngsters taking part in the short sponsored walk will help support the charity’s work across the region.

Pauline Clark, organiser of the Leeds Toddle, said the event always provided plenty of fun.

“Its good to see all that excitement and entertainment – not to mention toddling – going towards helping thousands of less fortunate children,” she said yesterday. Barnardo’s Yorkshire works with more than 13,000 children, young people and their families.Picture: SIMON HULME
