Supermarket’s band charity single success

A GROUP of Co-operative employees, including group chief executive, Peter Marks, have raised more than £60,000 through sales of a record they made for charity.

The band, Angel Square, which includes Mr Marks, from Bingley, on drums, played a sell-out gig in Manchester before releasing a song for digital download though Revolver Records.

The money raised will go to Mencap and ENABLE Scotland towards a programme aimed at helping 20,000 young people with a learning disability.

Mr Marks said: “I was once quoted as saying that if I wasn’t at The Co-operative, the only other job I would be interested in would be drumming for The Rolling Stones!”

It can be downloaded from digital music stores or go to www.angelsquareband.com
