Blooming wonderful – that was the verdict from gardening student Isabela Dzieciol, on the Harrogate Spring Flower Show.

Originally from Poland, she is now studying garden design at Craven College, Skipton, and appreciates a good tulip when she sees one.

Also enjoying the sweet smell of success was Terry Hunt from Edrom Nursery in Berwickshire, which picked up the Best in Show award for the second time.

Mr Hunt and Kath Davis have run the nursery for just over 11 years, and picked up the top award in 2007.

"They have changed the judging criteria this year so we were not sure how we would do, we really did not expect to win," he said.

The show continues at the Great Yorkshire Showground until Sunday.
