Surf’s up for VW fans as icon of sixties heads for Harewood

THE grounds of Harewood House, near Leeds, will be filled with VWs next month.

It will host one of the UK’s biggest VW Festivals and there is a chance to see VWs of all types from Campers and Beetles to more modern VWs, Audis and Skodas on Sunday, August 14.

People can join in the fun on Sunday or camp overnight on the Saturday to fully immerse themselves in “VW heaven”.

Thousands of Volkswagens will be on display for visitors to admire, from the traditional, to the unusual, to the completely bizarre.

Visitors can see graffiti and airbrushing at work, trade stands and club displays, magicians, circus performers and stilt walkers and more entertainment.

Saturday night includes entertainment with a children’s disco from 6pm to 8pm, and adult disco, bar and a live band from 8pm till late.

Those pre-booking their tickets online could win a 1970s VW Beetle, with proceeds going to local charities.
