Survivor speaks out after death driver jailed

A woman who lost four members of her family in a car crash has described its aftermath as the worst time of her life.

Denise Griffith spoke out after Gordon Dyche, 24, was jailed for four years after being convicted of causing death by careless driving.

Dyche hit Mrs Griffith’s people carrier while trying to overtake, sending it plunging into a reservoir in April last year in Llanidloes, Powys, Mid Wales.

She was the sole survivor of the crash, which claimed the lives of her husband Emyr, 66, mother Phyllis Hooper, 84, and foster sons Peter Briscome and Liam Govier.

The family were returning home to Pontypridd after a day out.

Speaking after Dyche was sentenced yesterday, Mrs Griffith no words could express how much she missed her family and how much her life has changed.
