Susan Boyle pairs up with wax model for double act

Singing sensation Susan Boyle saw double yesterday as she came face to face with herself at Madame Tussauds.

The Britain’s Got Talent star waxed lyrical about the £150,000 model as it went on display in Blackpool.

“What can you say? They have done a very good job. It feels fantastic,” she said.

“It was such a great process to be involved in and it looks very realistic.”

The model is on display at the new attraction, which opens tomorrow.

Boyle, 50, gingerly eyed her wax look-alike as it was unveiled before posing bedside the model, joking: “She’s doing a better job than me!”

The Scot, nicknamed “Subo”, was catapulted from obscurity to global stardom after appearing in the 2009 contest.

The singer, from West Lothian, became an international star after her performance of I Dreamed A Dream from the musical Les Miserables stunned the audience and judges.

Asked who she would like her waxwork to stand alongside today, she giggled there was only one person she would choose.

“Who did I want to dream about, Simon Cowell of course,” she laughed. “It would be Simon Cowell, no doubt about that.”

The wax model wore an elegant black outfit donated by the singer, which she wore in the video for her version of The Rolling Stones’ hit Wild Horses. Her model will be beside the likes of Bruce Forsyth, Gok Wan and Alan Carr in a section dedicated to TV stars.
