Tabak had images of abused children

Murderer Vincent Tabak kept images of children being sexually abused on his laptop computer, police have discovered.

The 33-year-old killer was jailed for life on Friday after a jury found him guilty of throttling 25-year-old Joanna Yeates in December last year. Her body was found eight days later, on Christmas day.

Following his conviction at Bristol Crown Court it was revealed the Dutch engineer was obsessed with images of women being strangled during sex and had perversions for violent pornography. It also came to light he faced further questioning by police relating to material discovered on the hard drives of computers he used.

It has now been reported that Avon and Somerset Police discovered 30 images of youngsters being sexually abused, rated at category four on a scale of one to five where five is the most serious. The CPS is to consider whether it is appropriate to bring further charges.

Yesterday, Miss Yeates’s father David Yeates, 63, said he and his wife Teresa, 58, and Jo’s elder brother Chris were still in shock about what had happened.
