The firm has been involved in the successful launch of numerous games, including the Worms franchise, The Escapists and the Overcooked series.

Planet Alpha was developed in conjunction with Denmark-based, independent developer Adrian Lazar.

Debbie Bestwick, chief executive of Team17, said: “Our 100th game marks an incredible milestone for Team17, having started life as an indie publisher in 1990.

“The release of Planet Alpha, 100 games later, demonstrates how we bring our unique expertise, perspective, values and experience to working with independent developers. We look forward to continuing to work with our partners to bring the next 100 games to market.”

Team17 reported strong trading in the six months to June 30 and said it expects to deliver full year results in line with market expectations.
