The unnamed singer is believed to have received the threats on social media ahead of a performance in South Yorkshire.

The boy will appear in court at a later date.

Chief Inspector Lydia Lynskey, of South Yorkshire Police, said: "We will always investigate any incident reported to us and I would urge people to please consider what they post on social media as, while it may only be meant in jest, it could cause serious distress or alarm to a number of people."
