Teenage girl traumatised by sex attack in woods

A TEENAGE girl was left traumatised after being subjected to a serious sexual assault in a Sheffield suburb.

The girl was walking in a wooded area between Fox Hill Road and Edgewell Crescent in the Fox Hill area of the city when she was attacked.

Det Inspector Ian Fidler, who is leading the investigation, said the area was known locally as The Quarry.

The detective added: "Incidents of this nature are very rare and we are treating this as an isolated incident.

"However, I would urge people to be vigilant."

Police are looking for a man aged about 18, of slim build and between 5ft 4in and 6ft tall.

He was wearing light blue jeans and a royal blue jumper with a hood on.

Anyone who was in the area at around 3.20pm on Thursday November 4, when the attack took place, should call police on 0114 220 2020.
