Teenager fighting against the odds
Battling terminal cancer, Connor Lancaster was one of the worthy recipients of this year’s Prince’s Trust and Samsung Celebrate Success Awards.
The 15-year-old from Wibsey, near Bradford, seen with Chris Cowton, of Huddersfield University, won the University of Huddersfield Educational Achiever of the Year category and was described as one of the stars of the trust’s xl programme which was set up to help young people like Connor keep up with their school work while boosting their self-esteem. The awards celebrate the efforts of the 5,000 young people the trust helps each year across the region.
