A teenager from Barnsley injured her head and spine in a car crash on the M18 motorway near Rotherham on Thursday afternoon.

The woman, 19, was driving a black Renault Clio close to junction 1 at Hellaby, at about 3.40pm, when she swerved and hit the central barrier. Police believe a HGV may have been involved. Witnesses should call 0114 2202970.
