Teenagers sentenced over phone pictures of drunk girl

Three teenagers who took indecent photos of a drunken girl for their own amusement have been made the subject of youth rehabilitation orders.

The trio, a 15-year-old boy and two girls aged 15 and 14, were found guilty after a trial at Bradford Crown Court in April of sexual assault and taking indecent photographs of a child.

The 15-year-old girl was also convicted of distributing some of the images of the 13-year-old victim to another boy.

The case relates to the girl’s ordeal in a Queensbury field in December 2011, but none of those involved can be identified for legal reasons.

The victim, who was described by a judge as a lonely and vulnerable girl with a number of emotional issues, became unconscious after drinking most of a bottle of vodka.

“Each of you callously and cruelly took advantage of her condition for what you misguidedly believed to be amusement,’’ said Judge David Hatton QC.

“Her clothing, which was already in some disarray, was adjusted to expose her genitals and her breasts. A vodka bottle was placed between her legs and a twig was placed between her buttocks.

“Each of you took photographs on your mobile phones and you (referring to the 15-year-old defendant) distributed yours to (another boy).’’

They also face overnight home curfews for the next three months and forfeited their mobile phones.
