The Yorkshire Post says: It's grand up North - Harrogate penthouses sell for £10m

It's grand up North; certainly for those with a few million to spare. News that two penthouse flats in Harrogate's Crescent Gardens development have been sold for more than £10m ahead of it opening in 2020 is sure to elicit reactions from excitement to consternation.

The luxury properties are among 10 exclusive homes due to be created in a development that will also include an art gallery, spa and restaurant; amenities which will all be open to the public. The prices at which they have been reserved suggest the eye-watering property price boom in London, fuelled in part by overseas investors, may be heading north - especially as developers have suggested those interested in the luxury homes may be “international individuals” rather than locals.

But while the private properties will be out of reach for all but the most wealthy, that much of the development will be open to the public gives everyone the chance to taste a life of luxury - albeit fleetingly.
