Thieves removed fence panel and cut hinges off shed to steal bikes

Thieves cut the hinges off a garden shed and removed a fence panel to steal bikes being kept in the garden of a Rotherham house.

Today officers investigating the burglary released pictures of three bikes taken from the home in Poplar Avenue, Thrybergh, last month.

They detailed how the men removed a fence panel and entered the garden under cover of darkness at about 2.45am on Sunday, February 12.

The trio then proceeded to cut the hinges off the garden shed and take out two bikes.

A third bike was also taken from the back of the occupant's car.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Officers investigating the incident want to hear from you, if you know anything about what happened.

"Have you seen anyone with the bikes, pictured? If you’ve been offered one for sale recently, please call 101 quoting crime number C/19568/2017 of Sunday 12 February 2017. "
