Over 460 koi carp were taken during the burglary in the early hours of Tuesday, as well as 30 Chinese goldfish.

Two of the carp are worth a considerable sum. One 30-inch koi is valued at around £2,000 while a 36-inch koi called Charlie carries a £10,000 price tag.

The Chinese goldfish also cost between £30 and £300 each. The fish were taken from inside the shop and from an outside pond.

Police are now appealing for witnesses or from anyone who may have been offered any of the fish for sale or knows where they are. Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
