Three fire crews tackle a barn fire in North Yorkshire hamlet

Fire crews from across North Yorkshire were called to a barn fire near Scarborough today.

Fire crews attended a barn fire in Harwood Dale.

Crews from Whitby, Scarborough and Filey used two hose reels to put out the blaze at the building in Harwood Dale along with ceiling hooks, pitch forks and farm machinery after getting called out this afternoon (Friday)

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: "The cause of this incident was accidental with a rubbish fire spreading to a pile of tyres and then to a barn."
